Lived here for about a year as an alternative to on campus housing for college, cannot recommend it, at least for the 29 building around back.
The studios here are barebones, with very small kitchens and bathrooms, no closet. More or less a concrete box with the basic necessities.
Cheapest rent I could find without some major issue, no infestations or major crime problems while I was here, at the least.
The apartments, however, are rough. The exterior wall is more or less an aluminum frame with plywood siding, meaning the apartment is exceptionally poor at insulation from either temperature or sound, and with a very loud embedded ac/heater that tends to let out long blasts of cold/heat then stop for a good period, its heavily inconvenient. Another review alluded to someone breaking into their apartment by removing the wood paneling, though I can't confirm if that was legitimate.
The walls are concrete brick to my knowledge, also not the best at insulating sound.
My bathroom had a pretty notable black mold growth behind the toilet due to an ill fitting cover to the tank clearly not designed for the model, and the tile and bathtub were painted over at some point prior to my move in.
The apartment faces directly east, and has built in plastic slat blinds that cannot be removed or replaced, meaning light gets in easily. This is especially problematic given the direction as well as the lights on across the exterior of the building 24/7, making it difficult to sleep, especially beyond sunrise.
Half of the 29 building as well, the part facing east, directly faces a railroad track. Trains could run by at any given point, day or night, which is problematic given the thin exterior wall and exceptionally poor sound insulation.
Neighbors, as a whole, are an issue. My next door neighbor is especially loud, making a habit of playing extremely bassy music. One two occasions, he sat directly outside with a bluetooth speaker on full blast, while smoking weed. Another adjacent neighbor with a connected air vent made a habit of smoking inside, which often wafted through the vent.
Plenty of smokers in general. The smell finds its way into the apartment very easily.
There was another neighbor who made a habit of working on a shop car at early hours, and would loudly rev his engine for long periods. Once again poor sound insulation makes this problematic.
After hours courtesy number given by the complex did not work, instead going to the apartment complexes own phone and not connecting to any service or individual who could assist.
Garbage trucks show up at early hours, again, sound insulation is a problem as they are very loud and can easily wake you up.
On multiple occasions I've heard arguments outside at night, along with individuals parking behind the building with their car stereos on blast as late as 3 am.
The complex as a whole is rather dirty, which isn't so much an issue for me but still worth noting.
My mailbox was, at one point, left open and unlocked, which resulted in someone rifling through and jamming everything back in. I dont get any important mail sent to temporary housing arrangements but this was still concerning.
Overall the experience was exceptionally poor. If you can find a better apartment for similar prices somewhere, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
